Doctoral Level Courses

EDLD 8250: Organizational Power, Politics, and Policy. Focuses on historical and sociopolitical forces surrounding educational structuring and political decision making. Special focus on developing skills towards policy assessment, analysis, and implementation. Diversified assignments for self-selected tracks towards organization, advocacy, or evaluation of educational policy.

EDLD 8400: Ethics for Leadership. Integrates broad-based decisionmaking and consequence from major theorists related to the leader-follower dynamic and conception of the public good, with special focus on contemporary philosophy, evolutionary psychology, and integral ethics. Focused on both organizational and public sector leadership.

EDLD 8480: Institutional Reserach and Decision Support. This is an advanced level Policy Analysis in Educational Leadership course, focusing on frameworks and techniques for formal policy analysis and evaluation. This course is geared towards students writing policy-focused dissertations and research papers. 

EDLD 8270: Leadership in Finance and Management. Advanced studies on the intersection of human resources management and site-level school finance. Focuses on cost-neutral stratgies for targeted educator recruitment, differentiated performance evaluation, retention, and release. Focused on both organizational and public sector leadership.

EDLD 8940: Directed Field Experience. My section of this course is for Educational Data Analytics, and can serve as a compliment for Quantitative Research Design courses. It is specifically geared as a first-level quantitative reserach methods course for EDLD students, utalizing free, open-source software and public-use data to teach concepts of school and student level data analysis. 

Master's Level Courses

EDLD 7210 Multiprofessional Leadership for Equity. Emphasizes concepts of equity, fairness, dignity, and opportunity in public education leadership surrounding topics including language, physical diversity, social class, gender, race. Special focus on asset-based dispositions, culturally responsive leadership, and data literacy. Aligned with PSEL standard 3.

EDLD 7550 Educational Finance and Resource Management. Introductory site-based budgeting for school leadership. Emphasizes mission-based decisionmaking, responsible financial management, and the budgeting process. Aligned with PSEL standard 9.

EDLD 7220 Organizational and School Management. Combined school budgeting and school law for instructional leadership certifiate students. Includes site-based budgeting with legal aspects of leadership, including tort liabilty, social media, and recent state and federal mandates. Aligned with PSEL standard 9.

ERMA 7200 Basic Research Methods. This course is the introductory research methods course, specialized for EDLD students. Focuses on research design and introductory methods with examples for Educational Leaders.
